Before you arrive

Everything you'd rather know up front.

Booking, deposits, how to prepare, and what happens if plans change. If something is not covered here, call or send a message and Yen will answer directly.

How to prepare

Arrive ready and the work goes better

Before lashes

Clean lashes, no eye makeup, no oil-based moisturiser near the eyes. Leave contacts out and bring glasses. Go easy on the caffeine.

Before brows or PMU

No retinol, acids or exfoliants on the area for a week. Skip alcohol and blood thinners for 48 hours. Avoid Botox or filler in the area for four weeks.

Before makeup

Come with a clean, moisturised face. If you are having a trial, bring inspiration photos and, if possible, your veil or jewellery.

Frequently asked

Online booking is the fastest route and takes under a minute. Pick your service, choose a time, and you will get a confirmation with everything you need to know beforehand. If you are not sure which service to pick, call and Yen will point you to the right one.

No. The studio is appointment-only so that nobody is rushed and your slot stays yours. Same-day openings do happen, though — call and ask.

A deposit is taken for permanent makeup and bridal bookings and is credited to your final balance. Lash, brow and waxing appointments are booked without one.

Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Inside that window the appointment time cannot usually be refilled, so a fee may apply, and deposits on PMU and bridal bookings are non-refundable. Things happen — tell Yen as early as you can and she will work with you.

Message as soon as you know. Up to about fifteen minutes can usually be absorbed, though the service may be shortened. Beyond that the appointment may need to be rebooked, since there is only one chair and the next client is already scheduled.

The studio is a small, quiet room. One guest is fine for bridal and consultation appointments; for lash and PMU work it is better to come alone. Please do not bring children to appointments involving needles or wax.

Major credit and debit cards are accepted in studio. Deposits are taken online at the time of booking.

Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the existing set, the adhesive used and how much has grown out. Send a clear, close-up photo in daylight before booking and Yen will tell you whether it is a fill or a removal and fresh set.

Yes — the studio is wheelchair accessible. If you have any mobility, sensory or medical needs that would make the appointment easier to plan around, mention them when you book.

Say so in the chair, before you leave. Adjustments to shape, density or shade are far easier to make while you are still in the studio. If something settles differently in the days after, get in touch within a week and Yen will look at it.

The fine print

Studio policies

These exist so every client gets the same unhurried appointment. They are applied with common sense, not rigidly.

Health and safety

  • Tools are sterilized and applicators are single-use. Linens are changed between every client.
  • Services are not performed over active eye infections, open skin, sunburn or untreated breakouts in the area.
  • Permanent makeup is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or without clearance for certain medical conditions.
  • If you are feeling unwell, please reschedule rather than attending.

Patch tests

  • A patch test is available for anyone with sensitive eyes or a history of reactions, and is recommended at least 48 hours before a first lash appointment.
  • Tell Yen about any allergies, including to adhesives, latex and pigments, at the time of booking.

Minors

  • Permanent makeup is for clients 18 and over only.
  • Other services for under-18s require a parent or guardian present and consenting.

Photography

  • Yen often photographs finished work for the portfolio and Instagram. You will always be asked first, and no is a complete answer.
